Sacraments

Baptism

Celebrated on the second and fourth Sunday of each month at 1:00 pm. Parents are required to attend a Pre-Baptismal Preparation program prior to the ceremony. These sessions are offered on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm. Contact Sr, Nadine at (908) 756-0633 Ext 118.

Registered parishioners may obtain Testimonial letters for sponsorship of Baptism outside the parish by contacting the Parish Center at (908) 756-0633.

Confirmation

Two years of preparation are required prior to reception of the sacrament.  The sacraments of Baptism and First Eucharist are prerequisite to Confirmation. Please contact the office of Religious Education at (908) 756-0633 Ext 143.

Registered parishioners may obtain Testimonial letters for sponsorship of Confirmation outside the parish by contacting the Parish Center at (908) 756-0633.

Marriage

All couples planning marriage are required to attend either the Pre-Cana or Engaged Encounter program and God’s Plan for a Joy-filled Marriage. Arrangements should be made at least one year in advance.

First Eucharist

Preparation for this sacrament takes two years and typically begins when a child enters Grade 1. First Reconciliation and First Eucharist are celebrated during Grade 2, with First Reconciliation being required before First Eucharist. First Eucharist is celebrated in early May. Reconciliation

First Reconciliation is celebrated in December, requiring at least one year of preparation prior to reception of the sacrament. This preparation typically starts in Grade 1. The sacrament of Baptism is a prerequisite to First Reconciliation. RCIA

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is an ongoing four-step process within parish life. It is designed to welcome new members into the Catholic Church, as well as to prepare Catholic adults who have not completed the Sacraments of Initiation and are still in need of First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation. RCIA session are held weekly, with reception into the Church at the Easter Vigil Mass. Those who require only the sacrament of Confirmation will have an abbreviated faith formation schedule.
