A catechist is a person of faith who has the task of creating the atmosphere of the Holy Spirit to bring about growth among believers. They foster mature faith through a regular systematic presentation. The primary mission of catechists is to communicate God's love to those entrusted to their care by proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through the activities of the message, community, worship and service.

Our parish Religious Education program is served by volunteer catechists, aides, hall monitors and babysitters. All employees and volunteers of the Diocese of Metuchen who have contact with minors must undergo a criminal history background check and fingerprinting in accordance with the Policy on Criminal History Background Checks. All volunteers in our parish program have completed this requirement.
