Music
Ministry at Sacred Heart is an integral part of our
worship. We believe that our prayer life is enhanced
and nourished through the sung word. Music Ministry
involves every member of our parish community, as all
are called to participate in liturgy through song.
To add solemnity and beauty to our liturgies through
music, there are four choirs who help enhance the song
of our community: |
|
Adult
Choir
|
Adult
Choir members lead the congregation in sung prayer.
Our Adult Choir sings from September through June at Sunday Mass and major liturgies and paraliturgies throughout the season. |
|
Adult Hand
Bell Choir
|
The
Adult Hand Bell Choir is designed for those who might like
to participate in the Music Ministry of the parish in
a way other than singing. We have three octaves of Malmark hand bells. While it is helpful to have some
music reading ability, it is absolutely not necessary
since all music is color coded for those who cannot
read music. |
|
Youth Hand
Bell Choir
|
The
Youth Hand Bell Choir is designed for the youth of our
parish who are in Grades 7 through 12. Students are
not required to be able to read music. |
|
Folk
Group
|
The
Folk Group enhances the liturgy through music and song
with a contemporary flair from August through June. |
|
Middle Choir
|
For
the youth of our parish in Grades 4 - 8, the
Middle Choir sings one Sunday each month. |
|
Children's Choir
|
For
the youth of our parish in Grades 1 - 3, the
Children's Choir sings one Sunday each month. |
